The OM&IS Gazette is Alexa Capable!

Listen to your news out loud from the Amazon Alexa App! Alexa will read highlights of posts currently on the OM&IS Gazette to keep you informed on what’s going on. Set up directions below:

  • Locate and download the ‘‘Amazon Alexa’’ app in your app store.

  • Use your Amazon account log in credentials to log into the app. If you do not have an Amazon account, make one.

  • Allow notifications (or don’t)

  • Skip through the tour

  • With the Top left corner menu, navigate to ‘‘skills and games’’.

  • Select ‘‘Your Skills’’

  • Search ‘‘omis gazette’’ and select the skill.

  • Enable the skill

  • When prompted, allow use of microphone

  • Press the blue Alexa home button in the bottom center portion of the screen and ask ‘‘Alexa, read me my news’’, or ‘‘Alexa, what is my flash briefing?’’

About Alexa:

Alexa is set up to read 5 news stories in brief mode. When Alexa reads in brief mode, she is only reading the first paragraph of each post. Access the OM&IS gazette with your laptop or mobile device to get all the details!
