Hiking, camping, and exploring the great outdoors.
North Cascades National Park
September 2022
Highlights:
I chose North Cascades because I wanted cold weather and fewer people! This was my first hiking trip! I was annoyed that I didn't know anyone who would want to do this with me, but I thought that would be a silly reason not to do it.I learned to fuel correctly for hikes.I saw bears!
I stayed in this vintage Airstream in Concrete, WA just outside of North Cascades National Park. The artist who owned it had 2 in her backyaard. My second night here, 2 girls my age were staying in the other airstream! We hung out by the campfire and shared travel stories.
The artist made it so cozy inside! The shower was confusing, but not impossible. This was the perfect basecamp for my first hiking adventure.
Maple Pass Loop hike in North Cascades National Park. This was a 7.2 mile loop with 2000 ft elevation gain. The views were incredible!

10 minutes into my hike, this bear was feasting on berries in the valley below me. I was so excited! I stayed and watched for a while.
The next day, I hiked Cascade Pass. I got to see backpackers heading to Sahale Arm and wondered if I could ever. (I could)

My friends took a trip to Seattle the same weekend! After my trip to the mountains, we explored Seattle's night life scene. Queer/Bar was our favorite.
